Barton,Maryland --- Robert E. Brennan Sr. 81, formerly of 18521 Oak St., Barton and most recently of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at the nursing home.

Born in Barton on Aug. 5, 1920, he was the son of the late George and Irene (Warnick) Brennan. His daughter, Betty Jean Brennan; his son, Robert Brennan Jr., and his sister, Catherine Fazenbaker also preceded him in death. Mr. Brennan was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose of Frostburg, the Black Hawk Tribe 131 I.O.O.R., Westernport, a life member of George's Creek Pigeon Racing Association, and an honorary member of the Midland Fire Department. He retired from the Celanese Fibers Corporation.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Betty (Broadwater) Brennan of Frostburg Village Nursing Home; two sons, Joseph H. Brennan and wife Sharon of Mount Savage, Michael Brennan of Barton; two daughters, Elizabeth Booth and husband Bernard of Barton, Virginia Buskirk and husband Irvin of Frostburg; one half brother, Victor Bender and wife Dorothy of Frostburg; one brother-in-law, Lee Fazenbaker of Cresaptown; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Isabelle Burns of Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Adam Parker as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Barton.
