Steven R. LaVigne , died Wednesday September 1, 1993 as a result of injuries he suffered in a motorcycle-automobile accident in the Dallas area.
Born May 29, 1966, at Kincheloe Air Force Base, Mich., he attended schools in Louisiana, Nebraska, Florida, Montana and West Germany. He graduated from Bitburg (Germany) Air Base High School in 1984 and entered the Army in 1985. He was honorably discharged 3 1/2 years later after serving as a commander of the MA1A Abrams Main Battle Tank.
During his Army career, he received several honors and medals of achievement. In 1991, he was recalled to active duty from the reserves to serve in the Persian Gulf War. After the war, he returned to this country and received his second honorable discharge.
Mr. LaVigne worked with delinquent and disadvantaged young people for a private company in Austin, Texas.
He later graduated from truck driving school in Dallas and was employed by the McAllister Trucking Co., Houston, Texas. At the time of his death, he was engaged in coast-to-coast trucking for the Celadon Trucking Co., Dallas.
