Former Johnson County resident, Elmer Dutton, 72, died Saturday, October 23, 1999, at his Tremont City, Ohio, residence. Mr. Dutton was born May 14, 1927, in Johnson County, to the late John and Nelvie Pack Dutton. He was a construction worker. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Lynn Fannon. Surviving are his wife, Marie Blanton Dutton; one granddaughter and her husband, Sarah and Doug Fields; a son-in-law, Homer Fannon; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, George Dutton of White Salmon, Washington, and John Dutton of River; and two sisters, Gracie Preston of Clay City and Eula Fay Blevins of St. Paris, Ohio. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 26, at Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with John R. Pelphrey officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
