Albert Baisden, 97, of Andalusia died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 in an Andalusia hospital. He was born June 28, 1905 in Santa Rosa County, Fla., the oldest son of the late Brit Mathis Baisden and Josephine Adams Baisden. He married Eula Mae Shehane December 22, 1927. They were married for nearly 62 years, until Eula's death in May 1989. Together they raised five children on the Covington County farm. Albert was a member of Antioch Congregational Church. In addition to farming, he was a cotton ginner and an employee of the Untied States Department of Agriculture. His major interests were his family, friends, church and Masonic activities. He is survived by two sons and three daughters, James K. Baisden (Elaine) of Alexandria, Va., Gene A. Baisden (Reba) of the Straughn Community, Martha N. Dye (Carl) Chattanooga, Tenn., Winnie M. Nall (Carol) of Brewton and Betty S. Cottle (Ted) of Gantt. He is preceded in death by a son, Albert L. Baisden Jr.; two brothers and two sisters, Arthur M. Baisden, Louis A. Baisden, Lavonia A. Cottle and Verna R. Kuchko. Funeral services for Mr. Baisden will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at the Antioch Congregational Church with burial in the church cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. All Masons will meet at Harmony Lodge on Saturday at noon. All master Masons are invited to participate. Pallbearers will include Keith Nall, Craig Cottle, Gary Cottle, Jamie Baisden, Ken Baisden and Jeremy Cottle.
