"Henry Haynes, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Haynes, was born in Westmoreland county, Pa., July 24, 1850 and departed this life at his home near Libertyville, Ia., Wednesday, August 8 in the morning at 11 o'clock, age 78 years and 15 days. When an infant child of two months he was baptized by the Rev. Steek of the Lutheran church in Westmoreland county, Pa. In after years he came to the state of Iowa and made his residence near the town of Richland and in the year 1898, he united with the Methodist Episopal church at Richland, Iowa. It was Sept. 16th, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Rambo of Richland, Ia., and to this union were born 9 children, four boys and five girls, all living except one daughter Anna, who preceded her father in death three years ago. He is survived by his wife and the following children, Jess and John at home, Fred of Ames, Okla., Oscar, of Stockport, Della Wixom, of Farmington, Sylvia Holt, of Hillsboro, Effie Scearcy of Fairfield and Lenora Duncan of Hillsboro. He also leaves 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. One sister. Mrs. Jane Clinkenbeard and one brother, Israel Haynes, both of Fairfield, Iowa. Father Haynes had not been well for a number of years, but became worse last Thursday. Funeral services were held from the Butler Funeral home Friday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. William H. Slack of the Libertyville Methodist church. Interment was made in the Halferty cemetery, four miles northwest of Richland, Iowa."
