Lester Marvin Jones, 83, passed away July 9, 1997 after a lingering illness.
Lester was born Feb. 16, 1914 in Daniel, Utah, son of Thomas H. and Agnes Swain Jones.
He graduated from Wasatch High School in 1932. His interests were agriculture and animal husbandry. At a young age he began his registered dairy herd and was active in dairy organizations. He loved fine, purebred horses.
On Nov. 20, 1934 he married LaVon Howe in the Salt Lake Temple.
Lester has always been an active member of the LDS Church. Along with his wife, he served a mission for the Church in the Ohio, Columbus Mission. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor.
Five children were born to this union: Marvin (deceased) and Jeanette Jones, Salt Lake; Marion Collard, Midvale; Bob Jones, St. George; Beth and Doug Murphy, Vernal; and Karen and Steve Ridge, Midway; 16 grandchildren (one deceased) and two great grandchildren.
