Daughter of Christoph STIHL (b. abt. 1743, d. 1782, Frederick Co., MD) and Catherine WINE (b. abt 1742, d. 1814).

Sister of Elizabeth, Abraham, Mary, Hannah, Susanna, Sarah, Eve, Saloma, and Christopher.

She married Casper HUFFERT on March 23, 1786, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Frederick, Frederick Co., Maryland. She was 18, and her sister was married to Casper's brother.

On May 11, 1787, she was baptised at the Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, in Woodsboro, Frederick Co., Maryland.

Catharine birthed 13 children. The first four were born in Woodsboro, Frederick Co., Maryland. The next seven were born in Rockingham County, Virginia. The last two children were born in Fairfield County, Ohio.

She was a baptised member of the German Baptist Brethren church.

Note: Around 1909, gravestone was in good condition as shown in a photo. By 1981, the stone was broken along with the other few stones. The stones were in a tangled mess amidst the broken concrete they had once been reset in.
