Russel E. Griffith, 80, died Monday in Klamath Falls.
He was born in Redding, Iowa to Charles L. and Margaret Griffith.
Mr. Griffith moved to Klamath Falls in 1925 and his first job included the construction of the road to Crater Lake. Later he was involved with the building of the Lost River Diversion Canal. In 1928, he wasw employed by Weyerhaueser Timber Co., where he helped in the construction of the main plant using a team of horses. After 40 years with WyeCo as ane equipment operator, Mr. Griffith retired in 1969.
He married Lucille N. McGee Jan. 11, 1936 in Medford. She preceded him in death Jan. 19, 1986. They lived on Tingley Lane where they operated a 320-acre farm.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nora Griffith, Gary and Karen Griffith, all Klamath Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Victor Divine, Klamath Falls; grandchildren, Vickie Zeller, Cindy Sweet, Sandy Divine, Vickie Fitzgerald, Shelly, Lori and Conni Griffith; and three great granddaughters.
