Catherine Maynor Childers, of 9 Dill Street, Cherokee Falls, S.C. died at 3:32 P.M Monday. August 6, 1984 in the Cherokee County Memorial Hospital. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Nora Hopper Maynor, a member of the Cherokee Falls Baptist Church and the widow of the late Robert Lee Childers. She was a retired textile employee (battery filler). She is survived by five sons, James Childers and Robin Childers of Cherokee Falls, Howard Childers, R.L. Childers and Terry Childers, all of Gaffney; three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Cobb of Cherokee Falls, Mrs. Barbara Duncan of Gaffney and Mrs. Gail Adams of Blacksburg; six brothers, Talmadge Maynor of Black Mountain, N.C., Broadus Maynor, J.W. Maynor, Roy Maynor, Bill Maynor and Paul Maynor, all of Chesnee; five sisters, Mrs. Helen Owens of Spartanburg, Mrs. Mary Moore of Forest City, N.C., Mrs. Nettie Mae Allison of Cherokee Falls, Mrs. Irene Patterson of Blacksburg and Miss Carolyn Maynor of Chesnee; twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The services will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday at the Cherokee Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Crotts, Rev. Don Horton and Rev. Bobby Earls officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Hardin, Broadus Ramsey, James Gibson, Arnold Ramsey, James Bolin, J.Q. Moore and Kenneth McCraw. The Gordon's Funeral Home of Blacksburg is in charge of the arrangements.
