He was born January 8, 1931, in Henry County, son of the late William Barton Clark Sr. and Mary Louise Allen Clark.
He was married September 12, 1951, to the former Ava Sue Nichols, who survives.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order Stars and Bars and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Beth Velazquez of San Diego, California and Barbara Ballard of Warrenton, Virginia; three sons, Dr. Ben Clark of Bethesda, Maryland, Bob Clark of Miami, Florida and Brian Clark of Miami, Florida; two sisters, Joy Gates of Pahokee, Florida and Mary Moon of Paris; two brothers, Dan Clark of Alexandria, Virginia and Sam Clark of Prince Frederick, Maryland, and five grandchildren.
Another brother, Bill Clark, Preceded him in death in 1957.
