She was the sister of a notorious outlaw, "Red Bill" McGrew, according to my grandfather's book, THE SOUTHERN McGREWS GREW. Her name was Elizabeth Clark McGrew, born 12-7-1817 in Alabama, and she married Thomas English Lenoir (born 1-17-1812 in South Carolina) on September 26, 1839 in Sumter County, Alabama. They had five children: John M., Mary A., James T., Isaac, and Joseph C. Lenoir.
