Mrs. F. A. Pierce

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church for Mrs. Festus A. Pierce, Dallas, former longtime Corsicana resident who died Monday in Dallas after a lengthy illness. The pastor, the Rev. Jack Riley, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Sidney Roberts. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Corley Funeral Home conducting.

Her husband, Festus A. Pierce, a Corsicana druggist for many years, preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1956. A native of Easonville, Ala., Mrs. Pierce was a a member of First United Methodist Church here and had taught Sunday School and served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She had served more than a decade on the Corsicana School Board of Trustees and served two-terms as secretary of the board. She was a Life Member of Kinsloe House. She had been a resident of Dallas the past four years.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She taught at Thompson's Gin School in Coolidge, attended Hubbard Schools and went to Georgetown University.

The family requests that those wishing to make memorial donations please send them to the First United Methodist Church here or to the charity of their choice.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jack Stroube and Mrs. Bette Wells, both of Dallas, and Mrs. Fielding Atchley of Chattanooga, Ten.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Brown of Shreveport, LA., and Mrs. R. R. Wier of Ardmore, Okla.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews including Fielding Atchley, Jr., Bill Stroube, Frank Stroube, Jim Wells, Jr., Edward Brown, Joel Brown and Bill Brown.
