Raymond Lewis Barton, 85, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2001 in Edmond, OK. He was born November 12, 1915 in Butler, OK to Mattie and E. M. Barton who preceded him in death. There were 12 children in the family, three brothers and 8 sisters. He attended school at Butler through 12th grade and attended Panhandle Co1lege A & M at Goodwell, OK. He married Avanelle Eakins in 1940 in Hammon, OK. He is survived by his wife of 6l years, two sons, Raymond T. Barton and Tommy Joe Barton and one daughter, Marilyn Jean Barton Davidson. He had 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a lifelong rancher and cattleman. He was a regional manager for the American Angus Association, retiring in 1980. He was one of the first men to be chosen for the Oklahoma Angus Association Hall of Fame. He was a man of integrity and high ideals. He was respected by all who knew him. He received his fifty year Masonic pin in 1988 and had many friends. He was a wonderful father and will be missed.
