FORMER LOCAL MAN IS DEAD AT INDIANAPOLIS
Michael Bowling Succumbed to Illness This Morning

Michael Bowling, 36, formerly of Washington, died at 6:30 o'clock this morning at his home in Indianapolis, according to word received here by relatives.

Death of Mr. Bowling came after an illness of more than a year. Leakage of the heart was given as the cause of his demise.

Born northeast of Washington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bowling, deceased spent practically all his life in this vicinity. About four years ago he moved to Indianapolis and had spent the remainder of his life there.

Deceased was a U.S. soldier during the World war. He enlisted early in the war, enjoyed a short furlough and then was recalled for service only to be furloughed a second time. He drew a pension from the government for some time after leaving the army.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Amy Bowling, a step-daughter, Ophie of Indianapolis; his father, John Bowling of Washington; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Edward Essig of Washington, Leo Bowling of Barr township; Mrs. Arnold McAtee of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Leo Yates of Kansas City, Mrs. Perry Brewer of Washington, Harry Bowling of Loogootee, Julian Bowling of Washington, and George Bowling of Indianapolis.

Local relatives were informed the funeral would probably be held in Indianapolis Thursday morning.

BOWLING

Michael G. Bowling, age 36 years, passed away Tuesday, April 9, at residence, 1037 St. Peter st.,; beloved husband of Amy Bowling and father of Opha Bowling.

Funeral Thursday, April 11, 9:30 a.m. at residence. Services St. Patrick’s Church 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross cemetery. Friends invited.
