Jennie Wood Carter Allred passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001, in Provo, Utah. She was born February 27, 1907 in Eureka, Utah, to Charles T. Wood and Mary Boyack. She attended school in Spanish Fork and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1925. Jennie enjoyed making quilts and afghans for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Married Elwood L. Carter November 29, 1926, solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1930. He died October 30, 1947. Married Ruel Burns Allred February 27, 1953. He died November 17, 1982. She worked in the LDS Church in many different callings - Primary, MIA, Relief Society, and attended the Temple faithfully until health prevented regular attendance. She worked at J.C. Penney's for 20 years and at BYU on call until 1996. She was preceded in death by both husbands, parents and one son, Gary Carter. She is survived by daughter, Jane (Armond) James, Orem; and stepchildren, Blake (Mary Ellen) Allred, Bountiful; Sherma (Tom) Jensen, Salt Lake; Osral (Linda) Allred, Spring City; Mossi (Joe) White, Provo; three grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; and 62 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Walker Family Mortuary of Provo. Friends and family may call Thursday at the mortuary from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Walker Family Mortuary of Provo.
