Funeral services for Preston Chance, 98, were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Oak Grove with Bro. Archie Haley officiating. Interment followed in Stevenson Cemetery in Rayville.
Mr. Preston Chance was born on August 26, 1910 in Bassfield, MS and passed away on October 18, 2008 in Oak Grove, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Lonie Chance; parents, Horace and Mary Chance; brothers, Robert Chance, T.C. Chance and Roscoe Chance; and sisters, Annie Gwin, pearle Battonfield, Minnie Dove, Emma Allen, Virgie Burnett, Essie Moncriel, Geraldine Chance, and Mary Chance.
Survivors include his 3-sons, Kenneth Chance and wife, Millie of Commerce City, CO, Ronnie Chance of Augusta, GA, and James Chance and wife, Kay of Oak Grove; 3-daughters, Minnie Adcox of Alto, Linda Hadden of Epps, and Beverly Chance of Oak Grove; a sister-in-law, Ethel Chance of Bastrop; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brian Adcox, Nathan Adcox, Darryl Adcox, Jason Chance, Jake Johnston, and Charlie Sanders.
