Mr. Patton died more than two years ago and his remains were cremated. He had asked his family to wait to bury them until this cemetery was complete.
One of the first to be buried in Jacksonville National on January 7 2009.

Arvil D. Patton of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Maryville, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, in Jacksonville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was 72.
Preceded in death by: parents, Alfred and Abbie Patton; brothers, Harley Patton and Harvey Patton; and sister, Alta Eggers.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at Liberty Baptist Church, Howard School Road, Maryville. Rev. James Patton and Rev. Alvin Patton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m., Saturday, at the church.
