Amos V. Albright was born October 25, 1867, and died in the Hanover Hospital, July 16, 1944, aged 76 years, 8 months, and 21 days. He was baptized June 28, 1868, by the Rev. Jacob D. Zehring. He was confirmed by the Rev. Silas F. Laury and became a member of the Stone Church in 1884. The Stone Church has suffered a distinct loss in the death of one of its oldest and best-known members. Amos V. Albright was a member of the Reformed congregation there for sixty years, as well as a member of the Sunday School. He was a regular attendant at all the services. He supported the church liberally and faithfully. In him the pastor had a loyal helper and a devoted friend. Mr. Albright served the congregation as deacon and elder for several terms. He represented the Jefferson Charge as its delegate both to the meetings of Gettysburg Classis and the Synod of the Potomac. He was the efficient treasurer of the congregation for over twenty years. He was a servant of the church. He had also been a member of Brodbeck's Band for fifty-five years. As a farmer, as a neighbor, as a friend, and as a Christian he enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him. The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 1944, with brief services at his late home and further services at the Stone Church, where a large number of relatives and friends had gathered. The funeral text was Psalm 37:18, 37. Burial was made in the new cemetery.
