Novella Catherine Byrd 76, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009. She was born in Camden, AR to the late Luther and Annie McKinney Sanders. Novella was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Kyle Lawrence.
Novella was of Baptist Faith, and a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, John Ben Byrd; two daughters, Ginger (Johnny) Allgood and Sherry Lawrence; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Bradley, Blake, and Hannah Allgood and Emily Lawrence; two brothers, Carlton and Alton Sanders; and host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Reverend Steve Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
