(Carolyn is Findagrave Contributor #47360448)
Isabelle was my grandma's sister. They were very close to eachother. Isabelle was the first daughter born to John Henry Stickney and Isabelle Jennie Heaney. She was very artistic and could draw well. She worked for department stores such as Sax Kay and Saks Fifth Avenue in Detroit as a window dresser. Isabelle died of a pulmonary embolism, due to contracting rheumatic fever as a child.
Isabelle Louise Stickney, 33, who lived at 228 Louise Avenue, died on Wednesday, July 17, in Florence Crittendon Hospital after a two-months' illness. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Stickney, of the Louise address.
Born in Moline, Ill., she resided in Highland Park for 20 years and was employed as a fashion stylist for Sax-Kay. She was graduated from Northern High School and belonged to the Detroit Fashion Group and the Detroit Display Club.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in the chapel of Harper-Mulligan Funeral Home, 16450 Hamilton Avenue. The Rev. Willis L. Gelston officiated at the services. Burial followed at Roseland Park Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, Miss Stickney is survived by one brother, John Stickney, Jr., and a sister, Mrs. James Fitzgerald, Jr.
