Charles P. Curtis, 902 East Washington Street, died at 10:20 this morning at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Ill. He had been ill since January 1, and had undergone a kidney operation last Saturday. He underwent a previous operation in April.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Clugston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Victor H. Roberts officiating; burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, Ill.
He was born Oct. 3, 1877 near Brooklyn, Ill. to John and Lucinda Willey Curtis, and had lived in Macomb since 1927. He was a carpenter and also was employed by the Rural Electric Association. On July 27, 1905 he married Ethel Breen. He was a member of the Brooklyn Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, four sons and daughters: Mrs. Thelma Edler of Chicago, Mrs. Eva Fosdick, Kenneth and Clair Curtis of Macomb, three grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Hattie Vance and Mrs. May Dorsett, both of Macomb. Four brothers: Homer, Marion, Arthur, and Henry, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Dark and Mrs. Belle Leas, and a half-brother, George are deceased.
