Aug 20, 2012 - Interview with Irene Miller Houk:
Told a personal story about Dorothy Rupert who died young and tears fell from her eyes as she told it to me. ... it went as such... Dorothy Rupert, d/o Jesse Soloman and Mabel Catherine Bierman, was born with a heart problem. All the Rupert children had to get up early before school to do chores. They were held liable for them under the stricties circumstances. This particular morning, Dorothy did not feel well however went on to complete her chores at a slow pace, so slow she missed her school bus that morning. As a result, she walked to the High School. After being at school a while, she realized she did not feel well and her father was summoned to pick her up. Jesse Soloman did indeed pick her up and took her home where she went straight to bed. Her mother, Mabel, tending to her and asked her if she wanted anything. Dorothy requested only a drink of water. On that note, her mother promptly went to the bathroom, just around the corner from her room, and filled a glass of water. In that short time frame, when she returned to Dorothy's room, she found her dead.
Many in family would like a photo of her, however not a one has shown up in the household yet. Perhaps a school photo can be found in a yearbook. Very surprised Miss Lulu Bierman did not have a photo of her. 2015
