WILMINGTON — Joseph A Clemmons, 71, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at Cobles Oleander Chapel by the Rev. Worley G. Hawthorne. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Vi Byrd Clemmons; one son, Joseph A. Clemmons Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Curlean Johnston, Mrs. Camille Meshaw and Mrs. Doris Glover of Wilmington; two brothers, Arthur Clemmons of Wilmington, George Clemmons of Charleston, S.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Jones and Miss Betty Clemmons of Wilmington, Mrs. Nettie Barefoot and Mrs. Annie Belle Ward of Hallsboro; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
