Joan Ovaldson, 51, Mahnomen, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, in Mahnomen Health Center.

Joan Lucille Goodman was born Dec. 11, 1953, in White Earth, Minn. She grew up in the Iron Range area of Minnesota. She attended school in Pine Point, Minn. She moved to Minneapolis. She later moved to Mahnomen, where she worked for the casino. On July 19, 2002, she married Earl Ovaldson. They lived in Mahnomen.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Aaron (Liz) Goodman, Twin Valley, Minn., Shy Basswood, Detroit Lakes, Minn; two daughters, Michelle (Otha) Walker, Fargo, Vanessa Goodman, Mahnomen; her mother, Esther Goodman, Mahnomen; two brothers, Joseph Jr. (Barbara), Hinckley, Minn., Michael (Shannon), Mahnomen; two sisters, Char Lee, Mahnomen, Mary Lou Hernandez, of Washington; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation: Tonight from 5 to 9 in the Naytahwaush (Minn.) Sports Complex, and Friday from 10 to 11 in White Earth Assemblies of God Church.

Funeral: Friday at 11 in the church.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, White Earth.
