Louisa Yancy, age 88, of Pelsor, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at the home of her daughter near Dover. A daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Janetta Harris Ford, she was born October 14, 1914, at Ben Hur, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Wilburn C. Yancy, and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dennis Freeman; a great-grandson, Christopher Taylor; four brothers: Homer, Richard, George and Leon Ford; and two sisters: Sina Hefley and Anna Rudder. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Wilburn Yancy Jr. and wife, Betty, of Pelsor; and Shirman Yancy and wife, Nancy, of Russellville; three daughters and sons-in-law: Willa Mae Freeman and husband, Loyd, of Dover; Charlene Taylor and husband, Coy, of Hector; and Wilma Garrison and husband, Glendon, of Hector; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Ford and wife, Irene, of Dover; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren as well as two unborn great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 P.M., Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Glendon Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery near Ben Hur, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, granddaughters-in-law, great-grandchildren and the staff of the Arkansas Department of Health Hospice.

The family received friends on Friday evening, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home
