INDIAHOMA - Graveside service for Marian Kassanavoid, 93, Indiahoma, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Post Oak Mennonite Cemetery, Indiahoma, with Gerald Burton officiating.
Mrs. Kassanavoid died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in Lawton.
She was born Oct. 14, 1915, north of Lawton, to Thomas and Cora Permansu Terasaz. She attended Fort Sill Indian School and Bacone College in Muskogee, where she majored in art. She married Forrest V. Kassanavoid. She began practicing ribbonwork and displayed much of her work at the American Indian Exposition in Anadarko. She received a first and second place award there. She was a member of Comanche Reformed Church and Comanche Nation.
Survivors include a daughter, Amaryllis Frazier, Indiahoma; two sons: Lawrence Kassanavoid and Marlon Kassanavoid, both of Indiahoma; a sister, Juanita Clark, Temple; a brother, Raymond Almanza, Indiahoma; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Janice Sue Terasaz; and a sister, Mable Ashcut.
Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
