Her siblings included: George W. Carpenter, Jr.; William H. Carpenter (1837-1918) James Knox Polk Carpenter (1845-1865) - who was a Union soldier "accidentally shot by a comrade's gun" outside of Petersburg, VA just two weeks before the end of the Civil War. Anna Elizabeth Carpenter Roat; Louis F. Carpenter. Maggie, Rachel and Richard. Sallie married Thomas Hunter and they had at least one child: Sallie Hunter McQuade. She lived at 2039 West Boston Avenue in Philadelphia at the time of her death due to "phthisis pulmonitis" the latin term for pulmonary tuberculosis.
