Mr. Stephens, a native of Crisp County, was a retired Crisp County Prison guard and a World War II veteran. He was the son of the late Tom Stephens and the late Katie Woodard Stephens. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Satterfield Stephens. Survivors include four sons: Dale Stephens of Ashburn, Tom Stephens and Allen Stephens both of Cordele, and Luther T. Stephens, Jr. of Atlanta; a sister: Minnie Brown of Montezuma; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He served in the US ARMY he fought in World War II.
