Johnny Carl [Ballard], age 42, passed away Monday. He was born Sept. 17, 1946, in OKC, to John Owen and Blanche (Peggy) Ballard. He was their only child. Johnny graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1964. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. During his tour in Viet Nam, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Other decorations include Soldier's Medal, Air Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters w/V DEV, NDSM, DFC, VSM w/bronze star, ARCOM, RVCM/DEV 60 and O/S Bar (1) (Viet Nam). He was a life time member of the DAV. He was self-employed, had operated clubs, restaurants, and a supply business in the OKC area.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Owen Ballard.

Survivors include his mother, Blanche (Peggy) Ballard; uncles and aunts, Charles and Mary Kettler, Vernon and Joy Kettler, all of Tuttle, Roy Ballard and Kermit Bryant, of CA.; aunt, Mae Ballard of Shawnee; many cousins and friends.

He will be missed deeply. Committal service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Ok.
