Services for Thelma Lorraine Harris Brantley, age 80, will be held Sunday, Febuary 17, 2008 at 3 PM in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wendell Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brantley passed away Thursday, Febuary 14, 2008 after an extended illness at Jeffersonville Nursing Center.
She was a native of Holdenville, OK, born on September 9, 1927, grew up in Wilkinson county and had lived in Milledgeville for most of her life. She retired from Central State Hospital in 1991, she was married to the late Ralph Brantley in 1946, and was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Virginia Bell Harris. She was predeceased by a sister Grace Raleigh and a member of Freedom Church.
Survivors include Daughters, Faye B. (Dennis) Head of Lexington, KY, Judy L. ("Duck") Shipp of Milledgeville, Norma B. (Tim) Brown of Stockbridge; two sons, Jeffery Ralph Brantley of Milledgeville, Gregory Steven (Emily Elizabeth) Brantley of Macon; sister, Iva (James) Green of Milledgeville; brothers, Arnold (Betty) Harris of Milledgeville, Fred "Sonny" (Mary) Harris of Gordon, Gerald (Carol) Ayliffe, Thousand Palms, California; Brother-in-law, W.H. Raleigh of Macon; grandchildren, Kelly (Ted) Hoover, Amy (Tom) McElhenney, Monica (John) Ling, Spencer Williams, Amber (Carlos) Giles, Cameron (Holly) Williams; Kristen Brantley, Jenna Brantley; Summer Brantley, and Lauren Brantley, Denise Mardenborough, Tracy Hall, April Rathel; great grandchildren, T.J. McElhenney, Lily Kate McElhenney, Kayla Ling, Madelynn Grace Ling, Spencer Brantley Williams, Isabel Giles, Jared, Miranda, and Rachel Mardenborough, Amanda Weeks, Taylor, Dalton and Madison Hall.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Febuary 16, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
