Vivian Lorene Babb, 85, of Charleston, MO, died March 9, 2002, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Born Jan. 11, 1917, at Mill Springs, daughter of the late George A. and Mina Jeffords Cox, she lived in Charleston most of her life, where she owned and operated Mrs. Babb's Daycare and Kindergarten for 20 years. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the First Christian Church and participated in the local prayer group in support of the Billy Graham Crusade efforts. She had also served as a Girl Scout leader and was a former member of the Athena Club.
On Feb. 18, 1939, she married W.S. Babb, who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1996.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Connie Babb; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Draffen; two half brothers, Wayne Cox, and Norman Cox; five half sisters, Alice McKenzie, Mary Stevenson, Vennie Tumbleson, Sue Mulvaney, and Shirley McElyea; and three grandchildren, Tip Draffen, Mark and wife Jennifer Draffen, and Stephen Draffen.
One brother and two half brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation was held at McMikle Funeral Home.
Services were conducted at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Don Tabor of Nashville, officiating.
Burial followed in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
