Young Baby Dead.

Gernella Stewart, two-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Stewart, of Star Park died at Mokane Sunday afternoon, while the parents were on their way to Fulton after a visit with Mrs. Stewart's mother, Mrs. Hermenia Matteson, near Portland. The child was buried in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, near Portland, Monday.
Mrs. Stewart had been visiting her mother about a week, and when the child's sickness developed into pneumonia from a cold, she telephoned Mr. Stewart, who is shipping clerk at the overall factory, this city, to come after her and the child. Mr. Stewart went after them Sunday, and the baby died at Mokane while the parents were in an automobile on their way to Fulton.

INFANT DIES IN AUTO

Gernelle, the little three-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Stewart, died of pneumonia Sunday in an automobile at this place while the parents were enroute to their home in Fulton.
Mrs. Stewart had been visiiting her mother, Mrs. Hermenia Matteson, at Portland for a week and the baby had been suffering with a cold. On Sunday the cold developed into pneumonia and the parents decided to take the little one to their home at Fulton. The father hurried to Portland in a car and with his wife and sister-in-law, Miss Anna May Matteson, was driving back to Fulton. As the party passed through Mokane they stopped at Thomas's garage for a supply of water for the machine and the mother took the opportunity to look at the babe to see how she was standing the journey. When she uncovered the little face she found the babe was dying.
Physicians were hastily summoned but they were unable to revive the child and it died in a short time.
The body was taken to the home of the mother's sister, Mrs. Lit Moore, and prepared for burial which took place Monday in Pleasant Hill cemetery near Portland.
