Private services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Shriver-Allison South Side Chapel for David Marshall Jones, 67, of 10556 Washingtonville Road, Canfield, who died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday in Community Hospital, East Unit, Salem, after an illness of several months.

Mr. Jones was born Jan. 5, 1905, in South Wales, a son of Thomas and Mary Prudence Jones, and came to Youngstown in 1928 from Great Britain. He was an inspector for Ohio Edison Co., retiring in January 1970. He was also an Army veteran, serving in World War II, a member of Canfield United Methodist Church and directed several choirs in Youngstown-New Castle, Pa. area.

He leaves his wife, the former A. Jean Goff, whom he married in 1943, a son, Lawrence, at home; a brother, the Rev. W. Marshall Jones of London, England, and a sister, Mrs. James Tudge of Lincolnshire, England.
