Born in Mettendorf, Luxemburg about 1795 to Nicholas REINART, Sr and his second wife Margaretha POTH.
Spouse: Anna Maria HOFFMAN; married 1 February 1826 in the village of Mettendorf. They had five children together.

He continued to farm near Mettendorf for another 28 years; until 1854. He then sold his farm and immigrated to America in 1854 and traveled to Dubuque County, Iowa where they stayed with close family relations. In the spring of 1856, Nicholas purchased 360 acres of farmland in the town of Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota.
He became a citizen of the United States in the fall of 1856.
In 1860, he was living near the town of Caledonia, Mayville Township, Houston County, Minnesota. By 1870, his wife had died and he went to live with his daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband Philip DIMMER shortly thereafter.
He died shortly after that at the age of 80.
