Christopher Ellis was the son of Johann Jacob Alles (b. abt 1722 Germany, d. 1785 Hanover, Dauphin County, Pennsylania) and Elizabeth (Mohr) Alles (b. abt 1726 Germany, d. Unknown Hanover, Dauphin County, Pennsylania).
Christopher's siblings were: Jacob Alles (b. abt 1748, d. 1806) and Abraham Alles (b.1750, d.1837).
Christopher Alles served in the American Revolution.
He was first married to Elizabeth Carver on April 25, 1786 in Frederick, Virginia and then with Nancy Overly on October 26, 1829. With Elizabeth they had twelve children and with Nancy they had three children.
