BLEDSOE, Virgie Age 89, a long-time resident of Brookville, passed away, Saturday, December 20, 2008 at The Oaks of West Kettering. She was born in Scott County, VA on June 12, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Johnie Bledsoe, parents Samuel M. Vaughn & Bessie (Reynolds) Vaughn; sisters Maude Newton & Ethel Skaggs, brother Milo T. Vaughn, & sons-in-law Lawrence Gibson & Robert Blakeley. She is survived by her daughters Opal M. Gibson, Velda (David) Baker, Jewel Blakeley, & Elizabeth Bledsoe. She was a beloved grandma and "Mimie" to Lori (Doug) Gilbert, Lisa (Brad) Blankenship, Nathaniel Sybenga, Amy Sybenga, Emma Sybenga & Jeremiah Fisher; a great-grandmother to Trenton Gilbert, Dylan Gilbert, Bryant Eaton, Lily Blankenship, & Tristan Blankenship; brothers Sam Mart Vaughn & Billy Vaughn; sisters Nelle Hawkins, Rosalee Fannon, Stella Litton, Hazel Collier, & Jeanette Crenshaw. Virgie accepted Christ at an early age and lived her faith daily. Services will be held 11AM, Sat. Dec. 27 at Red Hill Memorial Church, Duffield, VA Burial to follow at Bledsoe Cemetery, Canton, VA. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Church. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Miami Valley Chapter 3797 Summit Glen Dr. G100, Dayton, OH 45449, or the Dayton Right to Life, 425 N. Findlay St, Dayton, OH 45404.
