Funeral Held For James Mixon, Killed by Truck
Funeral services were held at Pleasant Ridge Saturday afternoon for James Mixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. W J Mixon, and a student in the Houston High School.
The youth was killed Friday afternoon near Houlka when he slipped and fell beneath a Standard Oil Co. truck in which he had been riding, having jumped off before it stopped. He died before medical aid could be reached.
Rev. W C Stewart, of the Houston Baptist Church, officiated at the funeral services which were attended, in addition to neighbors, and friends of the family, by several members of the high school faculty and classmates of the deceased.
Pallbearers were Doyle Davis, Lee Burgess, John Orin Rhodes, Charles Odie Trenor, Thad Sanderson, and Hubert Baird.
The young man was a member of the Baptist Sunday School and the Hi-Y.
