Gerald Wayne Cochran

Gerald Wayne Cochran passed away early on September 14, 2007 at his residence in Pflugerville. Gerald was born on March 3, 1949 in San Marcos, Texas to Dorothy Nell and Edgar Lee Cochran. His dad was career Air Force so his early school years were spent at Hickham AFB in Honolulu and at Warner Robbins AFB in Georgia. He graduated from Lockhart High School in 1967 and from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos three years later.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Bree, Brett, Brad & wife Holly, Brandon & wife Ashlee, Rachel, Josh & wife Lindsey, Jason & wife Tera; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Franks and Janet Hutchenson; brothers, Gary "Roach" Cochran, Donald Cochran and Terry Cochran; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, his father Edgar, and his son Michael.

Gerald recently retired from service for the State of Texas as a coach and teacher followed by many years of service for The State Treasury and The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

Gerald's passions were his love of life, his family and his appreciation for the outdoors. He was forever teaching all of us the many things life has to offer.
