Her mother was Swedish and her father was French. She received an excellent education in Russian schools and later studied at Berlin University where she attended courses in Philosophy and History of art. She first married Luri, the marriage was strongly disapproved by her parents and dissolved. Her second marriage was to a German actor Robert Schilling. Upon her return to Russia, after the beginning of the First World War, she met an artist Sergei Sudeikin, whom she married in 1918. They emigrated to France after the Russian revolution. In 1921 she met Stravinsky for whom she left Sudeikin. They could only marry after his first wife died in 1939. She was the owner of the gallery 'La Boutique' in Beverly Hills, where she held exhibitions of Picasso, Dali, Chagall, Tschelischev and of her own art.
