George William Moon, Sr. was born September 24, 1910 in Hague, Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was the eldest child of Joseph Levi and Eva Elizabeth (King) Moone.
He married September 10, 1934 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, to Cora Delray Anthony, the daughter of William Allen and Rosa (Jenkins) Anthony.
They became the parents of George, Jr., Catherine and Eva Moon.
George was a waterman most of his life, and always returned to the water when he took on other jobs. He was a cheerful person, who was always making people laugh. He was always ready to help family members in need, taking care of his parents and nieces and nephews.
He is greatly missed by his family.
George died December 11, 1992 in Lancaster County, Virginia.
