Mr. Hatt dies May 7
Rock Springs - Angus H. "Buddy" Hatt, 78, of 409 Paulson St., Rock Springs, died at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime Rock Springs resident, Hatt had been in ill health for the past several years.

He was born on Oct 7, 1923, in Bluffdale, Utah, the son of the late Angus J. Hatt Sr and the former Goldie Casper.

Hatt attended schools in Rock Springs, and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1942. Following high school, Hatt was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

He married Felicia Aguirre on Oct 6 1946 in Rock Springs.

Hatt was employed by the Union Pacific Coal Company as a coal miner at various mines including Reliance and Stansbury. He later worked at FMC in the shipping department and as a safety engineer until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Hatt loved taking trips with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. His pursuits included bowling, hunting, working crossword puzzles, and watching television.

Survivors include his wife, Felicia of Rock Springs; one daughter, Linda Ribovich and husband John of Rock Spings; one granddaughter, Jennifer Slatcher and husband Shawn of Phoenis, Ariz., one sister, Elda Monteith of Portland, Ore., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Brian John Ribovich, who doed April 7, 1981, one brother Allen Hatt; and four sisters, Lola Boyer, Elaine Ross, Delores George and June Sullivan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar St., Rock Springs. Bishop Art Shassetz will conduct the services. Military graveside services and interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.

Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk St, Rock Springs, Friday afternoon and evening until 8 p.m. and again Saturday at the church until time of services.
