Jean Baptiste was the son of Jean Baptiste Destrempes and Marie Sylvestre.
He married Emilie Descoteaux (the daughter Ignace Lefebvre dit Descoteaux and Marguerite Scholastique Godbout) on Jan 7, 1862 at St. Patrice Church in Magog Quebec Canada.
Between 1863-1870: John and Emilie had a son Alfred and daughters: Melvina and Marguerite all three born in Canada.
By 1870 John and his family show in the census of Barton, Vermont. This is where daughter Flora was born in 1872 and possibly Peter in 1875, although no birth of Peter has been located yet. By Sept 1878 they are residing in Holland Vermont where their son Arthur was born.
By 1880, Emilie appears in the Allentown NH census as head of household and John is not there, but may be off working as Emilie stated married on the census.
It is not known what happened to Jean/John. In some of the records he is recorded to be still alive in 1900.
By 1901, Emilie and her son Arthur and his first wife Clara (Gingras) Destromp appear in the 1901 Magog census and Emilie is now shown as widowed.
