Larry retired from G.M.'s Delphi Plant in Adrian after 31 years of service. He has resided the majority of his life in the Pittsford area and grew up near Bedford.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
He was a member of the Hillsdale American Legion and the U.A.W.
Surviving besides his wife Penny are two children, LaWanda Jo Borchardt of Adrian and Waylon Borchardt of Pittsford; two grandchildren, Elizabeth & Gracie Bosquez; a sister, Lela (Paul) Silwester of Ottawa Lake and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald and a sister, Ruth.
Funeral services for Larry Borchardt will be Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Whiteford Union Cemetery in Monroe Co. Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
