Actress. Know as the lovable battle axe "Nora Batty" in the British television series "Last of the Summer Wine". She was also quite a prolific character actress in British "Soap Operas", including "Coronation Street", "Crossroads", "Open All Hours" and "Follyfoot". Brilliant AND funny actress. She and Bill Owen were unforgettable in "Last of the Summer Wine". Rest in peace. Just thinking about them makes me smile.
