Visitation for Leona 88, of Bourbonnals, will be from 3-8 pm Thursday at the Clancy Funeral Home of Kankakee. There will be a wake service at 7:30 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee.
Burial will be in St. James Cementery in Irwin.
Mrs Wood died Tuesday morning (Nov. 28, 1989) at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, following a short illiness.

The daughter of the late John and Harriet Powers Sheehan, she was born Dec. 9, 1900 on a farm near Irwin.
She married James L. Wood on March 16, 1924, at the St. James Catholic Church in Irwin. He is deceased.

Surviving are a grandaughter, Debbie Gramlisch (Carey) of Chaffee, MO; a grandson, Gary Wood of Chaffee, MO; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Fenton of Cabery; a brother-in-law, Donald Fenton of Pontiac; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Joseph, three sisters and four brothers.

She attended the Dickey Siding Country School and Sacred Heart High School in Irwin.

A retired employee of Kankakee State Hospital, now Shapiro Develop-mental Center, Mrs Wood was a member of the Illinois State Employees Association.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of several senior citizens groups.
