Georgia, like her sister Eva enjoys Senior Citizens activities. She is very much in craft work; texile painting, quilt making and crocheting. She has kept family records through the years of her brothers and sister and has worked on the Hartley records and has been more than generous sharing her records with Charlene Sisler. =================== Georgia Melissa Loomis was born April 9, 1916 in Woodward County, Cedardale, Oklahoma to George and Myerl Hartley Hollenback. She departed this life to her heavenly home on October 7, 1994 at the age of 78 at Southeast Colorado Hospital.
Georgia came to Colorado in 1932. She married Floyd Luther Loomis on March 4, 1937 at Springfield. Although they had no children of their own, they loved their nieces and nephews as their own. Georgia and Floyd bought their farm southeast of Campo in 1945. They retired and moved to Springfield in 1979.
Georgia was very active person in the church and attending the Campo Assembly of God Church for 22 years. At the time of her death she was attending the Vilas Lone Star Church, Campo Senior Citizens and Campo Sew and Glow Club. Georgia shared her quilting and crocheting with the people she loved.
She is survived by a sister Eva Buatt of Springfield; brothers Jack (Mildred) Hollenback of Campo and Jim (Opal) Hollenback of La Junta and sister-in-laws Phoebe Loomis of Lamar, Mary Hollenback of Colcord, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband on January 11, 1991. Also her mother and father, brothers Bill, Ben, and Don and a brother-in-law Harold Buatt.
