William Donald Anderson, 75, of Monticello, died May 21, 1977 at Kirby Hospital, Monticello. Funeral services were held May 24 at Mackey Funeral Home with burial in Monticello Cemetery.
He was born February 11, 1902 at Monticello, the s/o Thompson and Elizabeth Turner Anderson. On March 8, 1929 he married Helen M. Hall (1903-1994) in St Louis MO. He is survived by his wife, two daughters: Mary Elizabeth Gill of Cincinnati OH; and Donna Jean Mosher, Minneapolis MN; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Marian Anderson (1906-1993) , Monticello.
Mr. Anderson graduated from the University of Illinois Law School in 1927. He was an Army captain during WW II and was employed by the Veterans Administration in Chicago until 1968. At that time he and his wife moved to the family farm outside Monticello. Since then he was corporate counsel for Americana Health Care Center, Monticello; was a 32nd degree Mason; and elder of the Presbyterian Church; a Rotarian; and member of the IL and Piatt Co. Bar Association.
Memorials may be made to the Kirby Hospital Scholarship Fund, the Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
