Mrs. Ollie May Ireland Coppage, age 62, widow of James W. (Jim) Coppage, died at home on W. 5th Street, Covington, KY on Friday, April 28, 1950. Cause of death was metastases from carcinoma of the breast for which she had surgery in 1947. Ms. Coppage also suffered from arthritis of the spine.
Mrs. Coppage was the daughter of John W. and Mary Ellen Fields May. She was a housewife.
Widowed twice, first at the age of 23, Mrs. Coppage's first husband was Wesley Ireland who was killed in 1911 by an accidental gunshot wound. Mrs. Coppage second husband, James W. (Jim) Coppage, also predeceased her in 1933.
Ms. Coppage was the mother of Edith Ireland Smith Malone (Joseph), John Wesley 'Johnnie' Ireland of Cynthiana, KY, and John J. Coppage, Covington, KY. A daughter, Mary Alice Ireland, and a son, Cecil May Ireland, both died young, each before the age of two years.
Ms. Coppage was the sister of Mrs. Alice Wigglesworth, Theodore May, and Charles May.
Ms. Coppage has six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Allison & Rose Funeral Home conducted services Monday, May 1, 1950. Mrs. Coppage was buried May 1, 1950 in the Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
