Richard Burtrand Hilton, 82, of 905 Acacia Ave., Clifton Forge died early Saturday morning, February 18, 2006 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. He was born in Covington, Virginia on July 25, 1923 a son of the late James C. & Pearl Johnson Hilton. He was raised in the Presbyterian Homes in Lynchburg. He was retired from the United States Navy serving 20 years. He achieved the rank of Ship Serviceman 1 st Class. Mr. Hilton worked for a number of years for the A.C. Transit Bus Company and was a member of the A.C. Transit Retirees Club. He was a member of the U.S.S. Atka Association, and attended the Fishersville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Onita Soares Hilton and by his second wife Alma Armentrout Hilton. He was also preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a brother Harry Hylton of Hopewell, and by 5 stepchildren, Darlene Hooker of Covington, Peggy Snead of Iron Gate, Korinda Deal of Weyers Cave, Robin Clinebell of Stuarts Draft and David Brown of Charlottesville; he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
