KUNNEMAN – A Family Prayer Service for Herman G. Kunneman, 1969 – 34th Avenue, will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. with church services following at 10:30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. M.W. Goldhammer officiating. Burial will be in Christ [Lutheran] Cemetery. Mr. Kunneman died Tuesday morning in Columbus Community Hospital at the age of 82.
The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at Gass-Haney Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church Friday.
Mr. Kunneman farmed 15 miles north of Columbus. Then to Columbus and worked for Columbus Oil Company until he retired.
A son of Herman and Anna (Wiechman) Kunneman, he was born March 27, 1896 in Platte County and attended Platte County schools. He married to Elsie Held at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Shell Creek on January 30, 1918.
He was baptized at Christ Lutheran church and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran where he was a member.
He is survived by his wife; a sister, Mrs. John (Adele) Brakenhoff, Columbus.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Milton; two brothers, Gus of Columbus, Walter of Hammond, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. John (Gesina) Meyer and Mrs. Walter (Olga) Gertsch, both of Columbus, and Mrs. Ernst (Anna) Wurdeman, Tulare, Calif.
